Hand-Crafted Organic Ingredients: Nettle, Red Raspberry Leaf, Alfalfa, Oat Straw, Lemon Balm, Chamomile, Rose Hip
Nettle: Rich in iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium, folate, and many other vitamins and minerals, Nettle is an excellent nourishing herb for the pregnant and postpartum mother. It is a natural blood builder, promoting good circulation to the uterine lining and is anti-inflammatory. As the mother passes anything she consumes to her baby both during pregnancy and breastfeeding, nettle will not only nourish her body, but also her growing baby. After birth, nettle is thought to promote an abundant milk supply. In addition, nettle is a bioavailability form of essential vitamins and minerals, something that is not always present in prenatal vitamins.
Red Raspberry Leaf: Considered the “herb supreme” for pregnancy, Red Raspberry Leaf tones and nourishes the uterine muscles, is rich in vitamins and minerals, and is especially high in naturally chelated iron, which the body can readily assimilate. It enriches the flow of milk, helps restore the system following childbirth, and is a great, all-purpose, pleasant tasting herb to enjoy during the entire nine months and beyond. Also helpful for relieving nausea and decreasing postpartum bleeding.
Alfalfa: Like nettle, alfalfa is a general restorative herb. In folk medicine, alfalfa is used to support thyroid health and it's thought to ease morning sickness. Alfalfa, like nettle and red raspberry leaf and other green leafs, is also rich in vitamin K which supports healthy circulation and proper blood clotting. Low vitamin K levels is linked with bleeding and hemorrhage which may be why many midwives recommend optimizing your vitamin K levels during pregnancy, particularly in the weeks leading up to childbirth, with the primary recommendation being diet as well as herbs like alfalfa. Alfalfa is also thought to produce abundant milk.
Oat Straw: Rich in calcium and magnesium, Oat Straw is highly recommended during pregnancy and postpartum for calming nervous stress and tension. It is a safe natural tonic herb for the nervous system and is very relaxing and tasty. Calming to the nerves and supports ovulation.
Lemon Balm: Calming and relaxing to the nervous system, helps relieve nausea, and supports digestive functions. Also a wonderful remedy for headache, depression, and insomnia.
Chamomile: A calming herb, rich in bioflavonoids, has anti-inflammatory and healing properties, relaxes muscles & eases labour pain when labour occurs. It is well-known for its calming and stress relieving properties. Also helpful to soothe an upset stomach.
Rose Hip: Nutritive, one of the best natural sources of Vitamin C we know of. Excellent tonic, aids the gall-bladder, kidneys and bladder. Strengthens connective tissue and helps relieve stress. Also loaded with lutein, lycopene, and beta-carotene – strong anti-inflammatories that help lower oxidation in the body.
