Postpartum Yoni Steam
Postpartum Yoni Steam
Strengthens uterus, promotes healing, and decreases postpartum bleeding.
Hand-Crafted Organic Ingredients: Calendula, Nettle, Red Raspberry Leaf, Rose, Lemon
To Use: Pour roughly 6 cups freshly boiled water over 4 Tbsp herbs. Cover & steep 10 minutes. Remove cover and sit over herbs so that the steam comfortably reaches your yoni and womb space. It is recommended to wrap a blanket around your lower half to trap the steam. Steam for as long as feels good to you, or until the water has cooled.
Starting on day 3 postpartum, as long as there is no hemorrhage, steam every day for 30 days.
Yoni steaming can be done in many ways, with a stool made especially for steaming, placing herbs in a toilet bowl and sitting on that, hovering over a ceramic bowl on all fours, or any DIY setup you can come up with at home! These herbs can also be used in sitz bath preparations as well.
Calendula: Excellent cleansing, disinfecting, all purpose herb that smells good and nourishes the body.
Nettle: Helps to build and strengthen the blood. Important for all women especially if you recently gave birth, have anemia, or have heavy periods.
Red Raspberry Leaf: Helps to tone, strengthen and cleanse the uterus so it can work more efficiently.
Rose Petals: Helps to nourish, soothe and strengthen the tissues. Rose’s astringent action increases toning of the uterine wall and helps tighten the endometrium. They are anti-inflammatory, helping to relax muscles and they have a cooling effect on the skin. High in antioxidants, rose petals prevent the growth of harmful bacteria. In addition, these powerful petals have a cleansing effect, while helping to retain moisture in the delicate skin, resulting in more firm and plump tissues.
Lemon: Helps with deodorizing, clearing out excess mucus or discharge.
About 2 oz ~ enough for about 5 steams
